My husband accepted a new job in Orange County – which meant a cross-country move from our home in Virginia. We began searching homes through the internet – and eventually found some homes that looked interesting. I sent in a request for more information, and promptly received an email from Jodi Salazar. I told her that we would be in California the following week for only four days, and that we hoped to find something during that time. She was very personable, and I knew right away that we could work with her. We made plans to meet in California the next week.
Because we had certain priorities – price range – layout of home – and a desire to be in the best school district – we found that the market was limited at that time. We looked at different homes – but none of them were exactly what I was hoping to find. There was really no other time we could return for another house-hunting trip before our move – so we lined up a house that was ‘okay.’ It wasn’t what I had hoped for– but my husband and I felt we should go with a “plan B.” Jodi knew this wasn’t a perfect match for our needs and wants, and so (unbeknownst to us) she continued to look around after we left for Virginia.
That next Monday, she called and asked me to consider waiting on going forward with final plans for our “plan B” house. She said that she had been checking on new listings that had just come out that week and discovered what she thought would be the perfect house for my family. She went to the house and took over 60 digital pictures of the house inside and out, as well as the neighborhood and its amenities – and then sent them to me over the internet. She telephoned me and was able to walk me through the entire house as we viewed the pictures on line. She was right on target! She really HAD been listening to me. The house was just what we had been looking for, and based on the in-depth information that she provided for us, we got it. She truly went the extra mile for us and cared about our situation, and she helped us out with all the incidentals that came along with the move.
When our car pulled up to the house for the very first time, we were delighted – it was more than we had expected and then some!
